We ask for your gender identity during onboarding, and once set, it’s pretty locked in. That's because, as soon as you join and tell us what you're looking for, we start showing your profile to people who match your preferences and vice versa.
But don’t worry, we’ve got a workaround! Reach out to our Support Team with your request and we can update it for you. Just keep in mind that we can only make this change once.
Still need some help with our gender questions? Here's what we ask and how we use the information.
Picking your gender identity during onboarding
When you first sign up, we ask "What's your gender?" You can choose female, male, or tap “Show me more” to explore our full list of gender identities. Keep in mind that your gender identity won’t be shown on your profile – it’s just for us.
If you select a gender other than male or female, we’ll ask a follow-up question: "Who do you want to be shown to?" You can select "People seeking men" or "People seeking women." We know this is a bit limiting, but we’ve got a little ways to go until we can make things work just right. In the meantime, we want to ensure all daters can create a profile and have the opportunity to find a great potential match.
Picking who you want to date during onboarding
After you select your gender, we ask, “Who do you want to date?” Unlike the gender identity question, you can change this preference anytime from your Preferences for Suggested. Just note that any changes you make won’t reflect in your Suggested batch until the following noon.
